April Jensen
Founder and Interior Designer
“Small, but infinitely powerful” is how a colleague once described the CEO and founder of ADJ Interiors, April Jensen; truer words have never been spoken.
April considers it a privilege to be invited into homes across the country to design spaces in which memories are made, salient conversations are had, and lives are lived. April provides clients with unique design—using function as the foundation of her creative process. Her designs are timeless but layered with modern sensibility and a hint of the unexpected. She believes that your home should tell a story and values the opportunity to interpret that story and make it a reality for clients throughout the country.
From her cat eyeglasses to her eclectic fashion sense, April’s aesthetic is as unexpected as the custom looks she creates for clients. Her personal style is heavily inspired by the 1940s, always finding a way to purposefully connect the modern to history. In life and work, April prioritizes meaningful relationships, authentic presence, integrity, innovation, and passion.
Prior to founding ADJ Interiors in 1994, April worked for interior design firms in Chicago and St. Louis. She works equally as hard to create seamless and enjoyable design experiences for her clients as she does to foster a fun, collaborative, and creative work culture.
April received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Interior Design and a certificate of Art History from Michigan State University. She is a Professional Member of ASID and is NCIDQ Certified, having completed specialized courses, necessary experience, and a rigorous examination. Under April’s leadership, ADJ Interiors has been featured in several St. Louis publications and has received an Architect & Designer of the Year Award from St. Louis Magazine AT HOME.
Energetic and gregarious, April can be found spending time with her husband and three children (Lily, Julien, and Tallulah), enjoying her beautifully decorated home, chatting with friends (beverage in hand) or catching a live music show at one of St. Louis’ many concert venues.
